Why are we here?

BMB Scholarship Association was started with a desire to help those in the community acheive their true potential through financial assistance and guidance. 

The scholarship that started the foundation was the Clara Dean Magee Memorial Scholarship.

About Elaine M. Ball

Born to the late Albert and Clara Magee, Ms. Elaine has been a pillar in her community, providing guidance and support to everyone she meets. 

Ms. Elaine graduated from Salem High School and began her studies at Meadow Draughon College in New Orleans, LA, where she earned an Executive Secretary Certification. She continued her studies at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned a BA in Business Administration. 

She currently remains active in her community.

About Charlie Ball

Born to a small family, Charlie has had nothing but big dreams and always strived to give back to others. She grew up in what is affectionately known as the Little Rock community in Foxworth, MS. Charlie has enjoyed a vibrant and rewarding career in higher education for the past fifteen years.

Charlie is a 1995 graduate of West Marion High School. She began her studies at Alcorn State University, majoring in Biology. She later transferred to Mississippi State University, where she concluded her undergraduate years and gained a degree in Physical Education. She started her graduate studies at Jackson State University and later graduated from the University of Mississippi, with a Master's degree in Higher Education. She is currently pursuing  a Doctoral Degree at the University of Mississippi.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Clara Dean Magee.

About Lonnie C. Ball II

Lonnie also grew up in a small family, but spent his childhood surrounded by cousins and close friends. Lonnie's fondest days were spent in the China Grove and Lampton communities.

Lonnie is a 2004 graduate of East Marion High School. He began his studies at Mississippi State University in Exercise Physiology. He later transferred to Jones County Junior College completing the welding program as a top of class student. Lonnie also excelled as a lineman student at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and is currently employed with a well known electric company. 

He is the grandson of Mrs. Clara Dean Magee.

About Albert M. Ball

Albert grew up in Tylertown, Foxworth, Clinton, and Oxford, MS. The eldest of six lively siblings. He graduated from Oxford High School (MS) in 2019 and began his undergraduate studies at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University where earned a BS in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary. He is currently pursuing a Master of Secondary Education with a concentration in mathematics at his Alma Mater. 

Earning over $140,000 worth of scholarships, he had the desire to give back to all his communities, starting with the first community that he called home–Tylertown. He brought the idea to his mother and grandmother; with the idea and passion they saw everything he was after. They helped create the first scholarship, and the BMB Foundation was born. 

He is the great-grandson of Mrs. Clara Dean Magee. 

About Cedric D. Burrell, Jr.

Cedric grew up in Tylertown, Foxworth, Clinton, and Oxford, MS. The second eldest of six lively siblings. He graduated from Oxford High School (MS) in 2022 and began his undergraduate studies at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. 

He is a graduate of Oxford High School (MS), where he was a member of the Football and Track & Field team. He chose to continue his education at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, majoring in Forestry with a concentration in Fish and Wild Life. He is also an active member of the A&M Track & Field team.

He is the great-grandson of Mrs. Clara Dean Magee.
